Where these numbers come from
- Rishi Chamomile Medley (one sachet)USDA reference values
Per sachet: USDA's per-100 g brewed chamomile tea × 237 g, the 8 fl oz cup Rishi brews from one 1.6 g sachet — about 2 kcal and no sugar. The blend is chamomile, lemongrass, lemon verbena and spearmint; Rishi lists it as caffeine-free (https://www.rishi-tea.com/products/organic-chamomile-medley-teabag-sachets).
Calculated from this recipe's ingredients and amounts (One sachet steeped 4–5 minutes in 8 fl oz of water at 200°F, as Rishi directs). Your drink will vary with the exact measures, brands and brew. Not a lab analysis, and not medical advice.
Why it works
Chamomile Medley is a botanical blend rather than tea from the tea plant, so it has no caffeine and suits any hour of the day. Rishi blends chamomile flowers with lemongrass, lemon verbena and spearmint, which gives it a brighter, more herbal finish than chamomile on its own. A longer steep makes it fuller rather than bitter, so it forgives an extra minute.
