Ingredients

  • 1 sachet Rishi Turmeric Ginger
  • 8 fl oz (237 ml) water, heated to 200°F / 93°C
  • Optional: honey and a squeeze of lemon

Method

  1. 1

Heat the water to about 200°F (93°C).

  2. 2

Pour it over the sachet in a mug.

  3. 3

Steep for 5–7 minutes: the longer, the spicier.

  4. 4

Lift out the sachet; add honey or lemon if you like.

Best results: Give it the full 7 minutes if you like ginger's heat; 5 minutes keeps it gentler and more citrusy.

Where these numbers come from

Calculated from this recipe's ingredients and amounts (One sachet steeped 5–7 minutes in 8 fl oz of water at 200°F, as Rishi directs). Your drink will vary with the exact measures, brands and brew. Not a lab analysis, and not medical advice.

Why it works

Ginger brings the warmth and turmeric the golden colour and earthy depth, while lemongrass and citrus peel keep it bright. It is a botanical blend with no tea leaf, so there is no caffeine. Turmeric's colour is strong: rinse your mug soon after so it doesn't tint.

Frequently asked
